摘要: Our goal was to determine the degree which joint segregation and linkage analysis leads increased efficiency for estimating recombination fraction greater power detecting linkage, compared separate analyses. We concentrated on quantitative phenotype Q2 analyzed with a tightly linked marker, loosely eight unlinked markers, latter chosen evaluate false positive rates. considered both nuclear-family extended-pedigree data, using 200 replicates of each provided GAW participants. found be consistently more efficient, relative efficiencies marker 1.16 1.06 in extended pedigrees nuclear families, respectively. These translated into modest but consistent gains detect linkage. Both methods appear produce unbiased parameter estimates similar © 1997 Wiley-Liss, Inc
