摘要: Abstract We studied the effects of mixing unfamiliar individuals on social behaviour finishing pigs. also examined efficacy commercial tranquillizer Stresnil (azaperone) when animals. found that pigs from different groups or litters significantly affected their behaviour, both immediately following and up to 3 weeks afterwards. Mixing not only increased aggression biting, but productivity. Azaperone eliminated fighting for a few hours after it was administered, which treated with non-tranquillized mixed The introduction animals into pens occupied by single appeared disrupt normal process hierarchy formation; prior ownership space may influence aggressive interactions. significance in commerical operations research is discussed.
