摘要: The star HD 219542 B has been reported by us (Desidera et al. 2003) to show low-amplitude radial velocity variations that could be due the presence of a Saturn-mass planetary companion or stellar activity phenomena. In this letter we present results continuation monitoring as well discussion literature determinations chromospheric (Wright 2004). These new data indicate observed are likely related activity. particular, there indications underwent phase enhanced in 2002 while level lower both 2001 and 2003. Our 2003 measurements now deviate from our preliminary orbital solution peak power spectrum at proposed planet period is severely reduced inclusion data. We therefore dismiss hypothesis cause variations.
