Realization of chirped fibre Bragg gratings by using differently tapered transducers and loading procedures

摘要: A uniform period fibre Bragg grating (FBG) can be chirped by applying an axial strain gradient to it. We have demonstrated a novel technique for making gratings (CFBGs) which involves bonding FBG the surface of tapered stainless steel plate that is strained loading. Four kinds profiles (convex, gradient, concave and rectangular) two loading procedures (bending direct tension) were used as means shifting absolute centre wavelength in situ broadening reflection bandwidth CFBG. With this method CFBG was tuned from 1548.92 nm 1550.99 nm, resulting maximum adjustable change 2.00 5 cm long FBG.
