摘要: In this chapter, we summarize the extant literature on living–learning programs (LLPs), or residence hall-based undergraduate with a particular topical academic theme. We begin chapter describing various typologies of and broader family learning communities, as well historical roots philosophical underpinnings modern LLP. then turn to summary LLP “best practices” literature. focus empirical investigating relationship between LLPs number student outcomes, including performance, persistence, intellectual development, faculty peer interaction, transition college, campus life, satisfaction, engagement co-curricular involvement, attitudes beliefs, self-efficacy, psychosocial development. Finally, following critique practitioner literature, conclude recommendations for future research practice.
