Improving power quality in microgrids using virtual motor-generator set based control scheme

摘要: Intermittent character of the renewable energy sources and harmonic prone power electronic inverters are causing quality issues in based microgrids (REMs). Hence, reliable effective control strategies required order to address these issues. With this intent, paper proposes a new scheme on virtual electric machines, named as “Closed Loop Virtual DC Motor Synchronous Generator (CLV-DCMSG) Control Scheme”. This uses Motor-Synchronous generator set environment model that provides modulating signals for controlling inverter firing pulses continuously closed loop. The primary advantage is it can mimic behavior conventional synchronous plant REMs. Due feature, active/reactive power, voltage/frequency similar plants. feature helps improving REM modeling/simulations performed MATLAB/Simulink® validated with an experimental prototype through dSPACE®. efficacy proposed assessed by computing various indices.
