摘要: Abstract Objective Hypericum perforatum L also known as St. John’s wort is to have many beneficial properties for the organism including its antioxidant and anticancer activities. It shown antiproliferative cytotoxic effects against various cancer cell lines. The purpose of this study was investigate on 7,12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracene-induced rat oral squamous carcinoma model. Design in vitro determined an extract prepared. Thirty Wistar male rats were divided randomly into 4 groups (Control group, DMBA HP + DMBA HP group). defense mechanisms tissue blood samples evaluated biochemically immunohistochemically, carcinomatous changes connective investigated immunohistochemically epithelial histopathologically. Results revealed inhibitory some enzymes (catalase, glutathione peroxidase). Immunohistochemical evaluations no invasive tissue. demonstrated chemopreventive although it did not prevent altogether. Conclusions a promising agent further studies are needed order evaluate full potential plant.
