摘要: The author presents recent progress on sol-gel derived organic-inorganic hybrid materials, especially with photonic applications in mind. classification, synthesis, forming and structural characterisation of this new class based siloxane matrices, are described. These materials potentially combine the excellent optical properties silica flexibility incorporating organic moiety at molecular level. character can facilitate low temperature (<200/spl deg/C) processing thin films. added be designed to influence linear nonlinear material. Potential cover an enormous range, including passive active waveguides, sensors, limiters solid-state dye lasers.
