摘要: PURPOSE To evaluate lower tear meniscus and corneal sub-basal nerve plexus in primary Sjogren's syndrome (pSS) Sicca patients. METHODS Cross-sectional study of 116 patients with associated pSS not (non-SS Sicca) 20 normal control subjects. Tear height area were measured using anterior segment optical coherence tomography; density, length, tortuosity evaluated vivo confocal microscopy. Data analysis was performed IBM-SPSS Statistics 24.0. RESULTS Corneal density length significantly lower, higher non-SS groups than subjects (P < 0.001; P = 0.018, respectively). presented a strong association Schirmer test I breakup time. Cutoff values (36.5 nerve/mm) (12.5 mm/mm) 80.2% to 81.9% sensitivity 85% specificity for detecting No significant differences found between the 3 regarding area. CONCLUSIONS microscopy may be useful tool assessment dry eye disease syndrome, complementing information provided by conventional modalities used evaluation.
