摘要: Driver’s attention on the driving task is vital for safe travel. Intelligent vehicle systems (IVSs) are systems which assist driver by, instance, providing extra information about the vehicle, environment, or to make more comfortable and safe. IVSs have a high potential improve driving, however they should not distract for example, inducing take his/her eyes off road in critical situations; rather IVSs shall direct shift focus direction of immediate danger. The objective this thesis was estimate ‘primary demand’ (i.e. create mathematical model describing demand current situation) using naturalistic data. Such estimation may be used increase effectiveness IVSs by 1) preventing such systems from distracting when primary 2) helping according situation. Naturalistic data SeMiFOT field operational test select several driving situations were ranked 40 drivers based their perceived task demand. Further, study focused roundabouts since very common scenario for low speed crashes require continuous maneuvering driver. Finally, study also elucidates extent perception influenced by cultural difference comparing results 20 Indians European drivers.
