摘要: Abstract An inexpensive three-step synthesis for large-scale preparation of 1,2,3,4,5-pentamethylcyclopentadiene is reported. Improvement Burger's route involving 2,3,4,6-tetrahydro-2,3,4,6-tetramethyl-γ-pyrone and 2,4,5,-tetramethylcyclopent-2-enone raised the overall yield to about 34% desired compound (originally 8%).
