摘要: Abstract: Cetacean distribution and abundance are reported from the first systematic line-transect visual survey in waters of Guam Commonwealth Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). The was conducted during January–April 2007 following standard protocols. Trackline coverage (11,033 km) dominated by high sea states (88.2%); however, 13 cetacean species were recorded. sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus) most frequently encountered whale, followed Bryde's sei whales (Balaenoptera edeni B. borealis, respectively). Occurrence is unique, because had not been confirmed to occur south 20° N. pantropical spotted dolphin (Stenella attenuata) sighted delphinid, striped coeruleoalba) false killer (Pseudorca crassidens).
