摘要: New techniques for determining relationships between biomolecules of all types – genes, proteins, noncoding DNA, metabolites and small molecules are now making a substantial contribution to the widely discussed explosion facts about cell. The data generated by these promote picture cell as an interconnected information network, with molecular components linked one another in topologies that can encode represent many features cellular function. This networked view biology brings potential systematic understanding living systems. We present VisANT, application integrating biomolecular interaction into cohesive, graphical interface. software multi-tiered architecture flexibility, separating back-end modules retrieval from front-end visualization analysis package. VisANT is freely available, open-source tool researchers, offers online interface large range published sets on interactions, including those entered users. system integrated standard databases organized annotation, GenBank, KEGG SwissProt. Java-based, platform-independent suitable wide biological applications, studies pathways, gene regulation systems biology. has been developed provide interactive visual mining sets. new provides general visualizing such context sequence, pathway, structure, associated annotations. Interaction predicted association be combined, overlaid, manipulated analyzed using variety built-in functions. available at http://visant.bu.edu .
