摘要: Abstract Bryophyllum pinnatum (B. pinnatum) (Lam.) Oken is used in tropical Africa for the treatment of several diseases such as kidney and urinary disorders. This study was aimed to evaluate effect B. on arginase II activity its prevention against renal oxidative damage occasioned by CCl4 rats. Rats were randomly divided into six groups; group I served control, carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) intoxicated group, III–V animals pre-treated with silymarin (25 mg/kg body weight), 25 mg/kg weight aqueous extracts (AEBP) 50 mg/kg AEBP, respectively, 14 days, followed a single injection CCl4. Group VI rats received AEBP only (50 mg/kg weight). Results obtained revealed that intoxication significantly increased (p SH), antioxidant enzymes nitric oxide rats’ kidney. These adverse changes, due rats, however, prevented pre-treatment leaves (25 The inhibition II, well status CCl4-intoxicated suggests can protect CCl4-induced damage.
