摘要: The static magnetic properties of single-crystal KMn/sub 3/ were studied by torsion measurements. These measurements are consistent with a transition to uniaxial antiferromagnetism below 88.3 deg K. Below 81.5 K the behavior is complex development hysteresis and discontinuities in torsion. Further, increases linearly field this range. observations suggest weak ferromagnetism crystal From comparison direction moment known distertions structure it concluded that results from canting sublattices because differences sublattice anisotropy. At appears only strong fields. It shown developed increased parallel susceptibility canted antiferromagnet. interpreted as first order Jahn-Teller type. antiferromagnetic itself associated change lattice parameter an exchange-controlled first-order transition.
