摘要: TEN YEARS OF POST-COMMUNISM have made it evident that the kind of democracy Romania will ultimately be determined by a number political actors, including Orthodox Church, country's largest religious denomination, claiming allegiance four in five citizens.' Since 1989 Church has tried to become one dominant forces transition imposing its views on through direct and indirect engagement. This article begins looking at Church's pre-1989 position Romania, then considers interplay between Romanian state democratisation process.
