Strategies for immobilization of manganese on expanded natural clays: Catalytic activity in the CWPO of methyl orange

摘要: Abstract The efficiency of the immobilization manganese on natural bentonite has been studied by comparison three methods: (i) pillaring with Al 13 followed wet impregnation aqueous nitrate, (ii) a mixed Al/Mn oligomeric solution and thermal treatment, (iii) Mn 2+ -homoionization starting clay subsequent in situ generation MnS clusters H 2 S gas treatment. resulting solids were characterized atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), cationic exchange capacity (CEC), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive analysis (SEM-EDX), nitrogen adsorption at −196 °C (DSC/TGA). Catalytic assessment materials was made Wet Peroxide Oxidation (CWPO) azo-dye methyl orange room temperature atmospheric pressure. intercalated shown to be most efficient method for metal incorporation interlayer hosting aluminosilicate. obtained this resulted stable against chemical leaching as well active catalyze CWPO reaction under very mild conditions temperature, pressure pH (18 °C, 0.7 atm 7.5).
