摘要: There is much interest in using high-throughput DNA sequencing methodology to monitor microorganisms, complex plant and animal communities. However, there are experimental analytical issues consider before applying a technology, which was originally developed for genome projects, ecological projects. Many of these have been highlighted by recent microbial studies. Understanding how best implemented important the interpretation results success future applications. Addressing biological questions with metagenomics requires interaction researchers who bring different skill sets problem solving. Educators can help nurturing collaborative interdisciplinary approach science, essential effective position students, teachers, public policy makers interpret new knowledge that brings. To do this, they need understand, not only excitement science but also pitfalls shortcomings research designs. We review some directions helping move field forward.
