A mobile learning system for supporting heterogeneous clients based on P2P live streaming

摘要: Along with the fusion of mobile communication technology and embedded devices, learning (m-learning) has become an important novel teaching method. A major challenge in designing such a system is how to simultaneously provide large-scale robust interactive media for all kinds clients, including PCs, IPTVs, smart phones, tablets. In this paper, we devise two-tier architecture based on service overlay network (SON) tree-based peer-to-peer (P2P) live streaming network. Especially, present priority-based P2P application layer multicast (PALM) algorithm, which takes some heterogeneity features various clients into consideration, as type, bandwidth capacity historical online runtime, construct stable effective supporting heterogeneous enhanced performance. Our simulation experimental results show that PALM can scalable it gain good load balancing performance well.
