摘要: This paper investigates why material throughput remains high in the UK automotive industry when there are opportunities for efficiency improvements. Informed by socio-technical studies of automobility, emphasises importance recognising how decisions regarding use always shaped more than simply cost considerations. Drawing on interviews, six interconnected factors identified that guide vehicle design and manufacturing process. These are: (1) customer preferences; (2) market positioning; (3) techno-economic feasibility; (4) supply chain (5) regulation (6) organisational attributes. can provide insights into current operating context help explain average intensity vehicles increasing. Overall, shows is outcome complex advanced processes. Understanding these processes them potentially increase likelihood adopting initiatives.
