摘要: This paper investigates why material throughput remains high in the UK automotive industry when there are opportunities for efficiency improvements. Informed by socio-technical studies of automobility, emphasises importance recognising how decisions regarding use always shaped more than simply cost considerations. Drawing on interviews, six interconnected factors identified that guide vehicle design and manufacturing process.
