摘要: ABSTRACT Objective To determine reasons for suicide attempts in adolescents and to examine the relationship between these psychological functioning. Method Self-reported functioning were examined 120 adolescent attempters who presented a pediatric general hospital. Results Consistent with prior research, most frequently endorsed motives self-harm die, escape, obtain relief. More manipulative overdose (such as making people sorry) less frequently. Adolescents cited death reason their attempt reported more hopelessness, socially prescribed perfectionism, depression, anger expression. Discriminant function analyses indicated that high levels of depression expression predicted self-reported wish perfectionism primary attempt. Conclusions Systematic assessment is useful tool clinicians determining recommendations follow-up treatment.
