摘要: Published data describing the biometrics, moult and fat loads of migrant Red‐rumped Swallows Hirundo daurica are scarce. Here we present on wing tarsus length, tail measurements, abdominal scores weight for a sample 457 birds captured at reed‐bed roost during autumn migration through island Lesvos in Aegean Sea. Biometrics were similar to those reported from smaller samples museum skins but with greater range values several measures. Tail length tailfork adult not markedly bimodally distributed, suggesting either that females rare or use sexing criteria proposed by Svensson (1992) should be applied population migrating this area. The majority carried loads, these significantly larger than first‐year birds, adults might have been better condition prior long‐distance migration. Moult inner primaries was found 16.4%,...
