摘要: The computational techniques utilized to determine the optimum propulsion systems for future aircraft applications and identify system tradeoffs technology requirements are described. characteristics use of following computer codes discussed: (1) NNEP - a very general cycle analysis code that can assemble an arbitrary matrix fans, turbines, ducts, shafts, etc., into complete gas turbine engine compute on- off-design thermodynamic performance; (2) WATE preliminary design procedure calculating weight using component determined by NNEP; (3) POD DRG table look-up program calculate wave friction drag nacelles; (4) LIFCYC developed life costs engines based on output from WATE; (5) INSTAL installation effects, inlet performance weight. Examples given illustrate how these be applied analyze optimize fuel consumption, weight, cost representative types missions.
