Reported cases of female sexual assault over 5 years period in Suez Canal area, Egypt: Demographic study

摘要: Abstract In Egypt, there is no clear and accurate epidemiologic study on sexual assault this lack of data conduct us to study. It a retrospective evaluating against females over 18 years old in Suez Canal area from 2004 2008 assessing reported cases the police recognizes associated factors. Total number was 40 studied years. There were 6, 7, 8, 8 11 respectively 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 2008. Alive (95%) (5%) autopsy cases. One (2.5%) assailants considered as intra-familial assault, while (90%) extra-familial (7.5%) incest. (57.5%) assailant known victim. The highest percentage victims among age group 1 (18–28 years old) representing 65% most frequent type abuse between complete rape (35%), followed by incomplete (30%). incest father–daughter (100%) Female hidden problem majority passes without reporting authorities.
