摘要: Xanthine oxidase and xanthine, a combination that produces hydrogen peroxide superoxide anion radical, applied topically in anesthetized cats equipped with cranial windows caused arteriolar dilation during application, sustained 1 h after washout, reduced reactivity to the vasoconstrictive effects of arterial hypocapnia, discrete lesions endothelium, morphological abnormalities vascular smooth muscle by electron microscopy. Similar were seen small, but not large, arterioles topical application or plus ferrous sulfate, free hydroxyl radical. The functional changes xanthine inhibited completely dismutase catalase. Superoxide catalase, each itself, eliminated residual washout oxidase. results show radical produce reversible consistent damage is produced presence both peroxide.
