摘要: Deletion and site-directed point mutants of the polycistronic P/C mRNA Sendai virus revealed that one nonstructural proteins this virus, C' protein, initiates from an ACG codon. This codon occurs in optimum sequence context precedes first AUG mRNA. The results presented communication are consistent with concept ribosomes scan to initiate several its different initiator codons. arrangement weak codons tandem mRNA, i.e. non-AUG suboptimum context, may represent alternate means regulate gene expression eukaryotes their viruses.
