摘要: Abstract Background: Intrauterine devices (IUDs) should be removed prior to global endometrial ablation procedures although the consequences of not doing so are unknown. Case: Ten years presentation, radiofrequency was performed for abnormal uterine bleeding in a premenopausal female with levonorgestrel intrauterine device left place. Subsequently, patient developed chronic pelvic pain. Results: Hysteroscopy extensive myometrial dissection necessary remove embedded found below scarred surface. The IUD intact without evidence disintegration or melting. This patient's pain resolved. Conclusions: case demonstrates specific adverse outcome when plastic is ablation.
