摘要: The ‘surplus’ of oceanic water generated by climate change offers an unprecedented opportunity to tackle a number global issues through very pragmatic process: shifting the excess from oceans onto land. Here we propose that sea-level rise could be mitigated desalination large amounts seawater in international network massive plants. To efficiently mitigate rise, desalinized stored on land form crop, wetlands or new forests. Based US$ 500 million price build individual mega plant with current technology, cost controlling approaches 23 trillion investment and 4 per year operating costs. However, economic, environmental health benefits would also immense contribute addressing including food security, biodiversity loss change. Because these are intimately intertwined, responses should aim at them all concurrently scale.
