摘要: Although Lyme disease responds to short courses of antibiotics, tick-borne Borrelia burgdorferi has been advanced by some as a frequent explanation for medically unexplained symptoms such continual fatigue, musculoskeletal pains, and subjective neurocognitive dysfunction. Often called "chronic disease" adherents this philosophy, it is loosely defined, practitioners liberally prescribe nostrums, including prolonged antimicrobial therapies, in belief that eradicates suspected infection. Perhaps due the lack supportive data, proponents theory have developed their own meetings, literature, activist groups, substantial internet activities advance views. Forces motivating movement are explored, tactics used non-scientific ideas included legal action garnering legislative endorsement. While neither logical nor evidence-based, harnesses corrosive energies taint modern medicine society.
