Bismuth Effect on the Mechanical Properties of Antifriction Al-Sn Alloys

摘要: Al-Sn alloys were produced by the induction melting method with different Bi additions. Microstructure shows grains 130 μm average size. Fracture toughness and hardness tests have shown that ternary alloying elements present significantly affected samples alloying. Plastic deformation was evaluated using forging test; results addition of 3.5 at.% increased value at least twice as compared unalloyed sample. Wear test indicated bismuth slightly tribological behavior. It found a concentration 3.0 Bi, considerably enhances performance.
