摘要: Summary The function of anthocyanins in green, vegetative tissues has always been a contentious issue. Here we evaluate their proposed photoprotective since recent findings have shown that reduce photoinhibition and photobleaching chlorophyll under light stress conditions. Anthocyanins generally accumulate peripheral exposed to high irradiance, although there are some exceptions (e.g. accumulation abaxial leaf obligatory shade plants) is usually transient. Anthocyanin requires coincides with periods excitation pressure increased potential for photo-oxidative damage due an imbalance between capture, CO2 assimilation carbohydrate utilization greening developing tissues, senescence adverse environmental conditions). Light attenuation by anthocyanin may help re-establish this balance so the risk damage. Although it suggested act as antioxidants, association oxidative appears relate ability and, hence, The various aspects induction pigmentation presented here compatible with, support, general role screens tissues.
