摘要: This study investigated the role of plantar cutaneous information in controlling human balance. We hypothesized that afferent messages from main supporting zones feet have sufficient spatial relevance to inform CNS about body position with respect vertical reference and consequently induce adapted regulative postural responses. Skin mechanoreceptors anterior and/or posterior areas one or both soles 10 standing subjects were activated by superficial mechanical vibration high frequency low amplitude. Variations subject's center pressure (CoP) recorded. Spatially oriented whole-body tilts observed for every subject. Their direction depended on foot stimulated was always opposite vibration-simulated increase. These responses are found subserve a function we suggest co-processing various followed vector addition mode.
