摘要: Abstract Background Cutaneous human papillomaviruses (HPVs) may be associated with cutaneous epithelial lesions and non-melanoma skin cancers. No study has systematically evaluated the presence of genus beta [β]-HPV in male genital or external (EGLs) Objectives To examine β-HPV types detected on surface EGLs men describe their prior to EGL development. Study design A retrospective case series was conducted among 69 pathologically confirmed (n = 72) who participated HPV Infection Men Study. Archived exfoliated cells collected from each normal specimens 6–12 months preceding development were tested for DNA using a type-specific multiplex genotyping assay. Results 61.1% all EGLs, 38 (16.7%), 5 (15.3%), 12 (12.5%) most commonly identified. prevalence differed across pathological diagnoses, largest number condylomas. Most development, though lower compared skin. Conclusions harbor large types; however, it appears that β-HPVs are unrelated men. Despite evidence support causal role carcinogenesis at UVR-exposed sites, unlikely cause disease UVR-unexposed genitals.
