摘要: We analyze the interaction between a nematic liquid crystal and an electric field, in cell which splay Freedericksz geometry is enforced. Equilibrium configurations are explored both close to threshold limit of strong applied voltages. frame within de Gennes’ order-tensor theory, allows us detect effects variable degree orientation on critical fields bifurcation shapes. The voltage induces nontrivial as well. Up transition, decreases, whereas ordering recovered when drop increases. also stress role played by dielectric anisotropy. In particular, anisotropy approaches permittivities deserves attention, since theory regularizes some phenomena exhibited classical Frank solutions.
