摘要: Cyclophosphamide (CP), a bifunctional alkylating agent used in chemotherapy has been reported to induce organ toxicity mediated by generation of reactive oxygen species and oxidative stress. Gallic acid (GA), phenolic substance, is natural antioxidant with proven free radical scavenging activity offers protection against damage. This research study was designed investigate the ameliorative effect GA CP-induced rats. Twenty-five male Wistar rats (180–200 g) were randomized into five treatment groups: (A) control, (B) CP, 2 mg/kg body weight (b.w.), (C) pre-treatment (20 b.w.) for seven days followed CP (2 days, (D) co-treatment b.w) (E) days. induced marked renal hepatic damages as plasma levels urea, creatinine, bilirubin activities AST, ALT, ALP GGT significantly elevated (p < 0.05) CP-treated group relative control. In addition, GSH, vitamin C SOD, catalase GST reduced when compared accompanied significant increase lipid peroxidation. The restoration markers well indices peroxidation pre- clearly shows that generated CP. protective may be attributed property gllic acid.
