Incidence of Kawasaki disease in Japan: the nationwide surveys of 1999-2002.

摘要: Objective: The purpose of the present study was to describe results nationwide epidemiologic surveys Kawasaki disease for 4 year period 1999–2002. Methods: design is a retrospective incidence survey. patients reported in these two are all new who were during periods (1999–2000 and 2001–2002), although data collected retrospectively. A questionnaire sent pediatric departments hospitals with 100 beds or more throughout Japan, requesting on disease, such as sex, age, date first hospital visit, recurrence, cardiac lesions. Results: total number 1999–2002 32 266 (18 604 male, 13 662 female), an average annual 137.7 per 000 children younger than 5 years old. male/female ratio 1.30. peaked at 9–11 months proportion under 1 age 26%. monthly distribution had high peak January gradual increase summer. Geographically, high-incidence areas limited certain prefectures moved from year. lesions acute stage sequelae occurred older years. Among principal symptoms, fever persisting ≥5 days most commonly, followed by conjunctival congestion, changes lips oral cavity, polymorphous exanthema, extremities. Cervical lymphadenopathy less. Conclusion: More surveys. steadily increasing despite decrease children. seasonal variation, geographical distribution, age-specific support infection theory etiology disease.
