摘要: Based on species occurrence records of museum collections, published literature, and unpublished shared by mammalian experts, we compiled a distribution database for 59 terrestrial mammals populating the extensively protected Dobrogea Region Romania. The spatial patterns mammal diversity was evaluated systematic conservation planning applied to identify priority areas their conservation. analyses revealed that intensive sampling not directly correlated but rather accessibility inventory. prioritisation analysis indicated relatively aggregated pattern with high or low value virtually no connecting corridors between them. significant overlap Natura 2000 sites national induced an over-optimistic vision effectiveness representativeness existing network found in Annexes II IV Habitats Directive. These results represent key step identifying core protection dispersal improved connectivity, guide future efforts increasing context environmental changes.
