摘要: Dermatophytes are amongst the most common fun- gal agents causing superficial skin infections. The epidemiolo- gy of dermatophytosis has changed during last century under influence socioeconomic factors, modern life, in- tensification travel, migration populations from south- ern to northern hemisphere. As result,Trichophyton rubrum become frequent species worldwide, mainly tinea pedis and unguium, while Microsporum canis is still main agent in corporis capitis Mediterranean countries. However, prevalence anthropophilic dermatophytes young children increasing overall big cities Europe America, epidemics becoming a public health con- cern. This review summarizes current status dermato- phyte infection Europe, Africa, Asia America gives an overview recent molecular methods currently available for laboratory diagnosis dermatophytosis.
