摘要: Abstract Studies of metabolism are central to the understanding ecology, behavior, and evolution reptiles. This study focuses on one phase sea turtle life cycle, hatchling dispersal, gives insight into energetic constraints that dispersal imposes hatchlings. Hatchling is an energetically expensive in cycle olive ridley Lepidochelys olivacea. Field metabolic rates (FMRs), determined using doubly labeled water (DLW) method, for L. olivacea hatchlings digging out their nest chamber, crawling at sand surface, swimming were five, four, seven times, respectively, resting rate (RMR).
