摘要: Disclosed is a single mode optical waveguide fiber having alternating segments of positive and negative dispersion slope. The relative indexes, the refractive index profiles radii are chosen to provide low total One embodiment consists first central major profile (10) outer radius r1, surrounded by annular segment (12) r2, second (14) r3. Preferred waveguides in accordance with invention exhibit over range 1520 1625 nm which at all times have magnitude less than 2, more preferably 1 ps/nm2-km. about -2.0 +2.0 ps/nm-km 1550 nm. also features polarization dispersion.
