摘要: Abstract Aspiration and dissection of a cystic tumor from the third ventricle 3-year old child resulted in several hypothalamic symptoms. One most persistent troubling symptoms was marked hyperthermia which could not be traced to an infectious origin. The elevated temperature reduced by acetaminophen there were abnormalities circadian cycles. In thermal stimulation tests high body defended against induced cooling but raised above 40°C without evoking physiological heat-loss responses discomfort. unusual thermoregulatory status this patient is similar that seen laboratory animals with lesions observed certain naturally occuring man. This dysthermia has been successfully treated chlorpromazine.
