摘要: Caries have three main interrelated etiological factors: 1) a bacteriological factor represented by cariogen oral bacteria, mainly Streptococcus mutans, which adhere to the dental surface and initiate decalcification of enamel producing an acid environment through carbohydrate degradation; 2) quality biofilm is colonized more or less rapidly bacteria after brushing, leading adhesive aggressive plaque; 3) reinforced fluor ion, saliva. The early superficial phase carie constitution reversible remineralisation from calcium, phosphate ions present in cavity. In absence destructive infectious process extends inner part tooth leading, its progressive destruction. Prevention based upon following pathophysiological data, mainly: family education on hygiene regular avoidance foods fluids containing sugars between meals; fluoride intake starting at birth being adapted age, prescription supplementation, taking into account possible other sources (salt, water).
