摘要: In many cases blunt chest trauma involves cardiac lesions, such as pericardial effusion, aneurysma dissecans, or valvular rupture. Early diagnosis with routine transthoracic and/or transesophageal echocardiography is essential to prevent a fatal outcome. the case reported, previously healthy 68-year-old woman fell 7 meters from roof of barn and sustained injury well fractures face. Physical examination revealed systolic murmur at apex, x-ray film showed severe pulmonary edema. Transesophageal demonstrated ruptured anterolateral papillary muscle fourth degree mitral insufficiency. An immediate valve replacement was necessary.
