摘要: Clinical practice guidelines provide a means to enhance physician performance. This investigation was undertaken in an attempt understand the nature of impact guideline use on We investigated (a) algorithmic-based and (b) text-based clinical decision-making by physicians at varying levels expertise. Data were collected using scenarios think-aloud paradigm, both with (primed) without (spontaneous) guidelines. The two used study management diabetes screening for thyroid disease. results show that as reminders experts non-experts. Guidelines acted educational tool non-experts assisting knowledge reorganization, particularly Text algorithmic formats useful performance depending purpose use: solving problems or learning. These insights into how can be fine-tuned different users purposes. Empirical research, coupled design principles from cognitive sciences, form essential component development.
