摘要: Background: Injuries to the heart and thoracic great vessels are frequently lethal. As prehospital care improves, however, more patients with these injuries reaching hospital alive. Thus, trauma surgeon must be prepared deal them rapidly precisely. Methods: A review of current literature was performed summarized provide a concise approach injuries. Results: Penetrating cardiac wounds present either tamponade or hemorrhage; both quickly diagnosed treated. Blunt range from occult inconsequential Thoracic vessel often cause death in field. Conversely, those who survive reach hospital, blunt challenge rapid detection, as they occult. Aortography repair active bypass shunts standard care. Conclusions: Heart surgeon. The may extremis, asymptomatic potential for precipitous deterioration. high index suspicion focused is critical patient survival.
