摘要: Gene expression results from a complex series of biochemical steps that include: (1) transcription the DNA; (2) processing RNA transcript into its final form and transport nucleus to cytoplasm; (3) translation (in case messenger RNAs) produce protein product; (4) post-translational modification product. Factors can modify these processes include those control rates and/or translation, turnover rate or protein. Most research dealing with gene in plants includes simply quantitating molecules result expression, i.e., RNA, proteins, catalytic reaction products, translation. Only recently, advent transplantation genetic engineering experiments, has it been possible site-direct mutation specific DNA sequences as means address fundamental genes. The following discussion presents examples such studies plant biology which, hopefully, will lead better understanding how their nuclear genome.
