摘要: Finite element geodynamic models of the West Antarctic Rift System reproduce transition from prolonged diffuse extension throughout rift system during Cretaceous and early Cenozoic to later focused in Victoria Land Basin middle Paleogene. The change style rifting is due intraplate processes, does not require changes plate motions or impingement a mantle plume. are consistent with Paleogene onset magmatism under normal thermal conditions.
