摘要: Purpose This paper aims to examine the conditions, characteristics and strategies pertaining rise of emerging markets’ multinationals (EMNEs). Design/methodology/approach The relies on both academic professional resources offer a holistic understanding EMNEs by reviewing, analyzing classifying their underlying characteristics, internationalization motivations, competitive advantages. Findings The analysis indicates that ascended as result major socio-economic transformations in past two decades after Cold War; follow an accelerated path expansion; implement flexible decentralized organizational configurations; enjoy strong political connections; do not internationalize according ownership-location-internalization paradigm, rather linkage-leverage-learning pattern; benefit from multiple sources advantage adopt five main types international strategies; are becoming more sophisticated represent serious threats counterparts advanced economies. Research limitations/implications As markets highly heterogeneous, findings suggestions remain context-bound. Practical implications The synthesizes literature, bridges theory practice offers integrative outline can be useful for business managers. Originality/value The takes all-inclusive approach provides insights into societal facets EMNEs.
