摘要: A membrane inclusion can be defined as a complex of protein or peptide and the surrounding significantly distorted lipids. We suggest theoretical model that allows for estimation influence inclusions on curvature elastic properties lipid membranes. Our treatment includes anisotropic whose energetics depends their in-plane orientation within membrane. On basis continuum elasticity theory, we calculate inclusion-membrane interaction energy reflects peptide-induced short-ranged deformation bent layer. numerical estimate corresponding constants indicates ability to sense bending accumulate at regions favorable curvature, matching effective shape inclusions. Strongly interact favorably with layers adopt saddlelike curvature; such structures may stabilized energetically. explore this possibility ca...
