摘要: The linear stability of a two-dimensional buoyant plume is analysed by taking into account the transverse velocity component and streamwise variations basic flow disturbance waves. solutions indicate dependence spatial amplification rate wavenumber on quantity under consideration as well coordinates. use relative to leads close agreement with neutral curve according quasi-parallel-stability theory, usual method for treating nearly parallel flows. However, within an unstable region shows substantial deviation from that predicted quasi-parallel theory. validity this non-parallel theory supported existing experimental data.
